Parishioners at St. Clement’s Parish in Lowertown and St. George’s Parish in Westboro may have been exposed to measles, Ottawa Public Health warned on October 22 in a public service announcement. Those who attended St. Clement’s at 528 Old St. Patrick Street on Sunday, October 12 between 10:20 am and 2:00 pm are advised to monitor until Sunday, November 2. Those who attended St. George’s at 415 Piccadilly Avenue between September 29 and October 2, from the hours of 9:00 am and noon, are asked to do the same until October 23. OPH has provided detailed advice on what monitoring entails.
Thus far Ottawa has registered ten cases of measles in 2025. If infected, symptoms tend to begin within 21 days of exposure. Symptoms typically include fever, cough and runny nose, irritated eyes, white spots in the mouth or a red rash on the face.
